WHAT JAMES HAMILTON HAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS RELEASE:
DENISE MOTTO PLUS SCOOBY SWIFT, 2 BRUMMIES A COCKNEY AND A MANCUNIAN ‘Doing It Properly Is XTC’ (Kool Kat KOOL TR1, Via PRT)
Trax Records apparently claimed late last year that Dense Motto’s ‘IMNXTC’ borrowed from Adonis’s ‘No Way Back’, before the latter sparked off the whole 2 Puerto Ricans A Blackman And A Dominican saga to which this also belongs, as Birmingham’s champion scratcher Scooby Swift with new instrumental additions has now created an opportunistic (0-)126¼-126½-126¾-126¼bpm ‘Do It Properly’-styled re-remix of his scratch mix of the Motto track. Denise’s 127½bpm original ‘IMNXTC‘ jack track remains as flip, together with the first 127⅔-128-127⅔bpm Scooby Swift Scratch Mix (which was a huge import house hit in Chicago!)
