WHAT MIXMAG HAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS MONTH'S D.M.C. MIXES:
After the hundreds of phone calls showing your appreciation of our April mixes, we found ourselves in the predicament of having to follow what was obviously a bumper package. So we put our heads together for a little longer than normal, and taking into consideration our 'please everybody' policy, we think we might just have pulled it off again. To open the set this month, we turned to a band that have been serving up alternative dance hits for over 10 years now. Inspired by the fact that the legendary Quincy Jones had remixed their biggest selling classic, Blue Monday, an enthusiastic Dakeyne was commissioned to bring you a blend of just five of New Order's timeless masterpieces. Dakeyne is untouchable at mixing this type of stuff as you've all witnessed via 'Alternative Classics, 'Re-ordered', 'The U2 Megamix', 'Sigue Sigue Sputmix', etc, but this must go down as one of his best. A priority when opening your envelope this month must be to play this from the very beginning and check out his spine chilling 'baroque orchestral' intro that will be remembered for many years to come. The current wave of 70's disco nostalgia seems to be more than a flash in the pan (prepare to dig your flares and platforms out), evidence of which you'll find on this month's preview LP courtesy of Brass Construction, Cleopatra Jones, The Pasadenas and the likes. So, bearing that in mind, we asked Mike Gray to do another one of his vintage soul jobs on a selection of tracks from the flared era. Incorporating a considerable amount of each of the cuts for maximum dancefloor effect, Mike has edited them together superbly, creating 'Rare Groove'. There was no question in anybody's mind within the office that Alan Coulthard's suggested mix for this month should go down on vinyl. The coupling of Narada Michael Walden's enormous new single, 'Divine Emotions' with his evergreen classic "I Shoulda Loved Ya' produces a pairing that will win any dancefloor anywhere throughout the world. Brought to you in the way only Alan knows how, we are talking serious basslines here! The first of Bizzie Bees offerings is next up, and it's one that is guaranteed to rock any venue where house music is greeted to warm reactions. Covering an amazing thirteen currently hot jack tracks in just 5 mins, 10 seconds, this offers a rather special short sharp assortment of the Chicagoan sound. Just to prove he can handle anything we throw at him Bizzie Bee also opens the mixes 2 account with a megamix that will win the hearts of Tracies and Sharons everywhere. Bizzie combines Sinitta's past four hits with some spicy edits, one or two samples and a few surprises. Handbags at the ready girls! Harry Enfield has become something of a cult figure through his appearances as Stavros and Loadsamoney on T.V.'s 'Friday Night Live'. So it was Mike Gray who gave us a second mix, using the acapella and S-Express current dance hits (plus one or two other bits) as a backing whilst Stavros and Loadsamoney make up most of the vocal content. Some very witty edits along with a hard rhythm beat will have your customers on the dancefloor with some huge smiles on their faces! Back from New York with a unshakable buzz, Chad Jay immediately recognised what was going to be the next big Hip Hop record and, in his own words, set about 'dismembering Derek B's new single 'Bad Young Brother'. Already tuff on the production side, Chad has cut in an abundance of bits n' pieces including a truly memorable bleeping hook over the chorus. Jay on B - the result is set to cold rock da house. Southends very own Mixbusters proved they weren't just a 'one off inconsistent pair of remixers by turning up at DMC with an adventurous reworking of Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock's 'It Takes Two'. Using loadsa samples and bullet edits, this is yet another mixbusting outing that will set the world alight.

WHAT JASON DAVIES OF THE MIXBUSTERS HAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS MIX:
This was our first 4 track mix released on DMC. I always had an issue with the backing beats for this mix (way too square), but sometimes you just have to let things slide from a working relationship perspective.
