COMMENTS: The following passage from D.J. Milo's biography gives a bit of detail about the making of this mix...
"He spent a lot of his time in Tokyo with Hiroshi. Hiroshi, with his crew, Major Force, had a record deal going. Hiroshi, K.U.D.O, Takagi Kan, and Toshi. These new friends whose names were now on his tongue, names to turn over, percussive and soft as the sound of a glockenspiel. Milo was their new recruit. They recorded Return Of The Original Art Form. It was Milo who found the title on one of his old Afrika Islam tapes. He was turning out to have quite a knack for that. The record was a cut-and-paste style, loosely based on the Lesson series by Double Dee and Steinski, but less hip-hop, more disco. Milo did a bit of scratching. Imagine it, five years before he had been scrubbing the cold cracked floors of Swansea Prison, now here he was, making music in Japan. The posse of Tokyo DJs and MCs taught Milo how to start to make music."
