WHAT JAMES HAMILTON HAD TO SAY ABOUT THIS RELEASE:
SHAKATAK ‘Mr Manic + Sister Cool’ (Polydor MANIX 1)
Juddering jittery vocodered dense 99¾bpm go-go-ish roller with bursts of their typical vocal and piano sound, this being more pronounced on the flip’s 99⅔bpm Manic Dub —however, another subsequent and far superior promo pressing (MANIA 1) now features a M|A|R|R|S-type brilliant 0- 100bpm Manic Cuts scratch mix (surely by CJ Mackintosh?) using just the go-go beat and vocoder behind all sorts of funky stuff like Eric B & Rakim.
Shakatak’s Manic Cuts scratcher is not in fact CJ Mackintosh, who it sounds like, but Shem McCauley – maybe better known as D.J. Streets Ahead
SIDE A: MR. MANIC & SISTER COOL Manic Cuts - Shakatak
REMIXED BY: Streets Ahead

COMMENTS: This is the original track with lots of scratching over the top
This release also has other tracks on it that are not a D.J. cut-up.
